Becky Hernandez and Jami Brookings pooled their talents three years ago and opened Peek-a-bootique in a small store in Old Town. They offer children's specialty apparel and gifts.
They have been so successful in Old Town, they said, they have moved to a larger location.
Brittni McGill, a faithful customer of theirs came into the new store and stood around to place an order.
"No, come here, we have a table now," Brookings said.
Peek-a-bootique sells, tutus, hair ribbons, embroidered bibs and onesies. They also have shirts for the young men, birth to 6 years.
If you don't find those special leggings or that hat, your grandchild just has to have, place a special order.
And when the child is all dressed up with no place to go, Hernandez and Brookings have a solution.
They host tutu parties. Guests receive goody tutus, cake, photos and play games.
"We help the parents enjoy the party," Hernandez said. "This summer we will have more than the tutu party. We will have tea parties and more stuff for the boys."
Peek-a-bootique is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday or at www.pbtbaby.com.
