Couple exchange wedding vows at state Capitol

MOORE — Stephanie Ann Foraker of Moore and John Christian Pitts of Oklahoma City were married June 19 at the Oklahoma State Capitol. Pastor Mike Booth presided.

The bride graduated from Moore High School in 2006. She went to Oklahoma City Community College on scholarship and graduated in 2008 with an associate’s degree in science. She is employed with Oklahoma City Ballet.

The groom graduated from Bishop McGuiness in 2004 and attended Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma City. He was a 2006 graduate of the Oklahoma City Police Academy and is employed by the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Parents of the bride are Randy and Debbie Foraker of Moore. She is the granddaughter of Harold and Claire Collins of Moore; Morris and Ramona Foraker of Garber and the late Betty Foraker.

Parents of the groom are Bryan and Laura Pitts of Oklahoma City. He is the grandson of Louise Pitts of Winston-Salem, N.C. and the late Charles Pitts; Miriam Flagg of Oswego, Ill. and the late Col. John Flagg.

After their vows, the couple gave roses to their mother’s while “Because you loved me” was played.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Piccione diamond white fitted strapless silk gown adorned with Swarovski rhinestones, crystal beading, seed pearls as accents and metallic embroidery with a semi-cathedral train. She wore a silver tiara with Swarovski rhinestones.

Her custom-made veil made by Ruth Ann Leder was monogrammed with a “P” and was made with lace appliqués from her mother’s wedding gown with rhinestones bordering the edge of her veil. She wore a pearl necklace given to her by her grandmother, Claire Collins, which was given by her late great-grandfather Bernard Sroka.

Her bridal bouquet was a smooth nosegay of pale pink, hot pink, cream roses and greenery with rhinestones as accents. Wrapped around her flower bridal bouquet was a custom made handkerchief, also made by Ruth Ann Leder. The handkerchief was made with lace from her mother’s wedding gown and attached to it was a Pandora charm.

Christina Fleharty of Moore, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Audrey Johnston of Oklahoma City, friend of the bride; Callye McCollum of Oklahoma City, friend of the bride; and junior bridesmaid, Jessica Cinnamon of Garber, cousin of the bride.

Kallen Pitts of Oklahoma City served his brother as bestman.

Groomsmen were Michael Roof of Oklahoma City, friend of the groom; Trevor Wauters of Oklahoma City, friend of the groom; and junior groomsman Cameron Cinnamon of Garber, cousin of the bride.

Ushers were Kyle Clark of Moore, friend of the bride; Josh Crespo of Oklahoma City, friend of the groom; Brandt Fleharty of Moore, brother-in-law of the bride; and Bryce Foraker of Garber, cousin of the bride.

Flower girls were Cailin and Cristin Cinnamon, daughters of Robert and Gretchen Cinnamon of Garber, cousins of the bride; and Emily Cinnamon daughter of Terry and Sandy Cinnamon of Garber, cousin of the bride.

Alexander Foraker, son of Jeremy and Elizabeth Foraker of Oklahoma City, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Sandy Foraker of Garber, aunt of the bride, attended the guest book.

A reception was held at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

The couple established a home in Oklahoma City after a honeymoon trip to Sandal’s Resort on the island of St. Lucia.
