MOORE — City officials projected a 3.1 percent increase is sales tax for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.
In July, the city was up 0.96 percent more than last year and in August, it was up 12.41 percent over last year, for an average of 6.68 percent for the first two months of the year.
“We believe that about 25 percent of the August increase was due to the storm damage in May, with people getting new roofs, fences, etc.,” City Manager Steve Eddy said.
Cleveland County showed an increase for August returns. The county received $588,408.72 this year compared to $509,823.41 for 2009.
