MOORE — Police are looking for a man who allegedly kidnapped an employee of the Bed Bath & Beyond in Moore July 20, Sgt. Jeremy Lewis with the Moore police department, said.
There is a $1 million bond for Randy Pete Roebuck Jr., 22, of Duncan. He was in Duncan Wednesday morning and talked with Moore police, but by the time the police reached Duncan, Roebuck had disappeared, Lewis said.
The U.S. Marshals said that Roebuck had “taken a bus ride to Florida,” Lewis said Monday but was still not in custody.
The 19-year-old woman had received texts earlier in the day from Roebuck, who was an ex-boyfriend, Lewis said. The texts were not of a threatening nature.
When the woman got off work at 1 p.m., Roebuck was waiting for her in the parking lot. Lewis said the woman got into the truck, then Roebuck became irate and started yelling at her.
As Roebuck reached Best Buy, Lewis said the woman tried to leave the pickup. Roebuck grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back into the truck and threatened to gouge her eyes out with a knife, Lewis said.
Lewis said Roebuck then drove south on I-35 exiting at Highway 9. He stopped at the Love’s Country Store to get gas. He showed the woman duct tape, rope and wielded the knife again and told her if she got out, he would hurt her.
The woman ran out of the truck to another woman who called police for her.
The woman was not hospitalized but does have a swollen face, where Roebuck had hit her, Lewis said.
