Teens invited to make Valentine craft projects at the library

MOORE — The Moore Public Library is looking for teens to show off their artistic side at an upcoming holiday-themed program.

“Valentine Fun” will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room B of the library, 225 S. Howard Ave.

Participants will work on a pair of projects, a Valentine tulle wreath, as well as Danish heart baskets. All supplies will be provided by the library.

Registration is required to take part.

Get started in quilting with Moore workshop

Get a lesson in Hands-On Basic Quilting at a Moore Public Library craft program, set for 9 a.m. Feb. 15, in Rooms A and B of the library, 225 S. Howard Ave. The class is for ages 18 and up.

The workshop will be led by Brenda Hill, extension educator with the Cleveland County OSU Extension Service. She will demonstrate some fundamental quilting techniques and give other information for beginners interested in quilting.

Learn Cat’s Cradle art in SOKC teen program

Teens are invited to learn about Cat’s Cradle art and take part in a craft project at the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library, at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The program is for sixth through 12th graders, who will use several simple items to craft a string art piece. Cat’s Cradle art features people making shapes by maneuvering string between their fingers and then passing it on to another person.

All supplies will be provided by the library.

Space is limited, so registration is required in advance to take part.

SOKC library telling ‘Tasty Tales’ for tweens

The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library is telling some “tasty tales” at an upcoming program, which combines a good book and something good to eat.

The “tween” program is geared to children ages 7 to 12 and takes place at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Rooms A and B of the library, 2201 SW 134th St.

After hearing a story, participants will then make a tasty snack with the theme they just have heard about in the book.

Space is limited so registration is asked to take part in the program.
