MOORE — Cleveland County Commissioners approved an addendum to a contract between the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and the county health department to reimburse the county for services provided to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, not to exceed $20,000.
“This allows us to expand our services,” Health Department Supervisor Shari Kinney said. “The movie ‘Rainman’ was the first movie to show that people with autism are intelligent, they just have the inability to interact with others.”
Kinney also asked commissioners to contract with Labor Finders — Oklahoma City South for temporary laborers at the rate of $13.44 per hour.
Kinney said after the meeting that she has one maintenance person and two buildings, one 40,000 square feet and a new one in Moore for 27 square feet.
Commissioners approved a notice of intent to cancel an interagency agreement with the Office of Juvenile Affairs. If the Department of Transportation also approves the cancellation, the county will have to absorb the cost of transporting juveniles “to court, hospital, doctors office,” Commissioner George Skinner said after the meeting. He also said he didn’t think ODOT will cancel the agreement.
The county will begin boring under 192nd SE Avenue at East Lindsey Street to install a 4-inch poly gas pipeline and a 6-inch poly saltwater pipeline in the county right of way.
Commissioners traded three 2005 Cat motor graders from District 2.
They also approved a $11,960 bid by Sunbelt to steam clean approximately 52,000 square feet of carpet in the Cleveland County Courthouse and Office Complex.
