Cleveland County YMCA wins communications award

MOORE — The Cleveland County Family YMCA will be honored by the North American YMCA Development Organization (NAYDO) with a Communications Award in April.

The NAYDO Council recently announced that the local Family YMCA won a NAYDO Communication Award in the category of “Media Campaign and PSAs” with a facility budget of $2 million to $10 million.” The YMCA will accept the award in Vancouver, B.C. at an awards luncheon on April 12.

As a part of a nationwide media campaign, the YMCA unveiled a brand change in 2010 in order to emphasize the importance of the nonprofit organization.

Cleveland County’s YMCA was one of the first that chose to adopt this brand change to promote and encourage other Ys to participate.

Bramlett & Associates Multimedia, produced the Y’s Public Service Announcements in 2012. The PSAs inspired the public to join YMCA because of the life changing opportunities available through employment, healthy living and military discounts.

NAYDO partners with the YMCA of the United States and YMCA Canada to assist in the development of fundraising skills and the creation of a philanthropy culture.

NAYDO provides a wide variety of resources in order to support financial programming at YMCAs such as educational materials, advocacy, and research. NAYDO believes a commitment to finding financial means and expanding services and facilities is everyone’s responsibility.
