MOORE — Many across Cleveland County were touched by the Aug. 3 wildfires — either directly or through a friend or loved one.
With the recent approval from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for individual assistance for Cleveland County residents affected by the August wildfires, the Disaster Recovery Center will be open Wednesday at 12 Corners Baptist Church, 15601 Etowah Road in Noble.
Disaster Recovery Center Hours are:
· Oct. 3-6: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
· Oct. 7: 1 to 5 p.m.
· Oct. 8-12: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
· Oct. 13: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
· Oct. 15-19: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
· Oct. 20: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
· Oct. 22-24: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Residents wanting to apply for assistance must call the FEMA hotline,1-800-621-3362, to register before the recovery center will process their applications. If someone has no means to call, a phone bank has been established at 12 Corners Baptist Church.
If residents do not have actual documents, they can call Catholic Charities at 523-3028 for assistance in document recovery.
In addition to FEMA, several other agencies will be available to determine if they can assist residents affected by the fires. Representatives of the Cleveland County Long Term Recovery Committee, Catholic Charities and Saint Vincent de Paul will be available to assist people.
