It was decided at Monday’s meeting that the Cleveland County Justice Authority will ask Lindsay Bailey to take applications for a bookkeeper and make recommendations to the board.
The bond indenture requires the authority to provide the trustee, which is BancFirst, with an annual audit.
Assistant District Attorney David Batton told the board he had received a letter from the City of Norman that stated they had looked at the plans for the detention center and the fire hydrant placement are “within code and acceptable.”
Trustee Rusty Sullivan said the state had approved the plans but since Norman is the department that would have to fight any fires, he also wanted their opinion.
Meeting as the county commission, also Monday, commissioners approved an abstract for the new detention center.
They also approved the monitoring of the fire and alarm sprinkler system for the County Office Building with SimplexGrinnell for an annual fee of $288.
Commissioners approved service and maintenance agreements between the treasurer and R.K. Black Inc. for two printers and General Mailing Equipment letter opener, table top conveyor and label printer.
An agreement was approved with Eastern Oklahoma Youth Services at Pittsburg County Regional Detention Center for juvenile services at $23.25 per day per child.
Commissioners approved the allocation of beverage tax in the amount of $24,002.20.
Bids were awarded to various vendors for road oils, emulsions and sealants. Bids for concrete repair and installation at the Cleveland County Health Department, asphalt material and new replacement parts for a 2003 Mack truck for District 3 were opened, accepted and may be awarded later.
