H1N1 shots now available Thursday, Friday to all Oklahomans

MOORE — The Cleveland County Health Department has announced that all Oklahomans who want to reduce their risk of H1N1 infection are now eligible to receive H1N1 influenza vaccine. While vaccine supplies remain limited, demand from priority groups has dipped to a point where all Oklahomans can begin to receive vaccine.

Vaccination continues to be the best way to protect people from the H1N1 flu and slow the spread of the illness, a health department spokesperson said.

The Cleveland County Health Department will hold a vaccination clinic 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Moore Community Center, 301 S. Howard. Another clinic is scheduled 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Norman Health Department, 250 12th Ave. NE.

The Cleveland County Health Department does not have any seasonal flu vaccine for adults at this time, but expects an additional shipment in December.

For more information, call the Cleveland County Health Department Moore office at 794-1591 or the Norman office at 321-4048.
