MOORE — Deborah K. Moffeit, 62, was called from this life after a short illness on Sunday, March, 18, 2012.

Services for Deborah will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church of Norman, with the Rev. David Spain officiating.

Deborah was a long time resident of Moore and spent more than 40 years as a cosmetologist and instructor. Deborah got her career started working at the Styla Salon in Moore, during high school. She went on to own her own salons, The Curly Top in Moore, during the 1970’s and early 1980’s as well as The Hair Associates in Oklahoma City up until a few years ago.

During the last decade, she and husband Roy have had a successful business as Avon Representatives, where she achieved the level of Honor Society, and received numerous awards and high recognition.

She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle solver. She enjoyed movies and Star Trek as well as many crafts. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter of Moore, and was named to the First Families of the Twin Territories, of the Oklahoma Historical Society.

She is preceded in death by her parents Cecil E. and M. Frances Oswalt and one brother, Mark D. Oswalt, as well as her maternal grandparents.

Deborah is survived by her husband Roy of 30 years; her daughter, Amanda Lassiter and her husband Mickey of Piedmont; daughter, Teresa D. Perkins of Oklahoma City; stepson, Roy Moffeit, Jr. and family of Locust Grove; step-daughter, Rhonda Mayo and family of Inola; two brothers, Larry R. Oswalt and wife, Shar, of Sand Springs; the Very Rev. M Price Oswalt of Prague, two grandchildren, Brittani Kay Summers and Kaleb Preston Summers, both of Moore; several nephews and nieces and their spouses, Joe and Stephanie Barnard, Michelle and Rob Ragan, Jennifer and Jeremy Griffin all of Sand Springs, Jeff and Tamie Barnard, of Tulsa; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Due to the fact that Deborah was self-employed for all of her professional years, she was never able to afford health insurance.

In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established at www.gofundme.com/help-deborah or direct donations can be sent to Amanda Lassiter at 2902 Saddle Springs Trail, Piedmont, OK 73078.
