Blog posts for Saturday, June 20

Julie Bragg, Mount St. Mary High School, Photography:

In photography for the past couple of days, our class has traveled to Granite, Oklahoma, along with the Creative Writing class. The writers came along so they can be inspired by us, the photographers. Also we tried this new type of photography called cyanotype. It's a lot of fun, also our class decided that we wanted to do a queen-sized sheet cyanotype with us in it. It was a long exposure, 30 minutes! But the results are amazing. We also started ballroom dancing. Yesterday we learned part of the cha-cha and waltz. I am having so much fun and loving every moment of it.

Samantha Rudder, Noble High School, Orchestra/Percussion:

The last couple of days have been so much fun. The percussion section had the privilege of practicing with the choir! It was so much fun being mixed with such talented singers, and trying to match notes. Then we met Jerod Tate. He is a famous American Indian composer. He composed a beautiful, but heartbreaking piece that the choir and orchestra have a privilege to perform. Then we met Billy Collins. He is the most famous poet since Robert Frost. Being here at OSAI has been such an awesome opportunity.
