Tyler Martin, June 23, Westmoore High School, Orchestra/Percussion
Last night's performance by the music staff was very enjoyable. The smaller
ensemble allowed for a more personal experience, while not removing from the
sound. Aside from that, there really isn't much else to mention after a
relaxing Sunday, so I'll return to listening to cabin-mates sing The Toast
Song.
Samantha Rudder, Noble High School, Orchestra/Percussion:
I'm so excited! Tonight is our percussion ensemble concert with Valerie [Naranjo, percussion instructor]. It will be so fun and exciting. We have worked very hard the last week. We have learned Traditional songs from Ghana and Liberia. Not only do we play, but we sing! Valerie has been an awesome teacher! I'm so fortunate to spend this amount of time with her! This is my first time to play this style of music! I hope all goes well! [Note: It was a fantastic concert!]
DJ Handy, Noble High School, Orchestra/Percussion
The OSAI percussionists hosted a concert tonight. There were three solos, two duets, and everything else were ensembles. I didn't like the food today, or yesterday. Not much to write. Ironically enough, I don't really miss my family, or my cat. I don't want to leave Quartz Mountain. This place is amazing. My friend, Amanda made me a friendship bracelet today. There are red, blue, and gold colors mixed. I watched her make mine, because I'm supposed to make her one tomorrow. My other friend, Daniel found a baby armadillo. When he came to find me it was already gone, so I didn't get to see it. Tomorrow, the orchestra has a surprise waiting for us.
