Area teams unable to take home tournament titles

MOORE — The Moore girls won their second game of the season when it defeated Duncan 55-39 Friday in the consolation round of the Chickasha Invitational. The win ended a six game losing streak that included a 58-37 loss to MacArthur in the first round Thursday.

The Lions were unable to string together consecutive wins, however, when they lost to Cache 56-32 in the 5th place game Saturday.

On the boys side, No. 14 Moore had an easy opening matchup against Chickasha JV. It won 96-18.

But in the second the Lions faced a tough Cache squad and had to hold on for a 58-55 victory.

MHS advanced to the championship game where they lost to Rejoice Christian out of Texas 59-43.

The Lions (8-4) will have one of its toughest stretches of the season the next three weeks with games against Norman, Norman North, Midwest City, Southmoore, Del City and Westmoore.
